P8000 series feature an innovative measuring principle to measure optically active liquids. The KRUESS patented measuring technology works much faster than in conventional polarimeters, as it reduces measuring time to just one second, regardless of the rotation angle of the sample. In addition, it permits continuous measurement, for example for kinetic investigations or in HPLC use. All adjustments on the device are made via an easy to use touchscreen. Also with minimum effort the user can carry out a simple menu-driven calibration using a quartz control plate. The T-models of the P8000 series are equipped with thermostat interfaces and the delivery includes an external PT31 thermostat.

The KRUESS DR6000 series Digital Refractometers with an intuitive touchscreen presents a clear overview of all data and functions and the integrated SQL database stores all data and allows external access via a network or standalone PC.
The refractive index is a parameter in quantitative or qualitative analysis and quality assurance. Degrees of polymerisation can also often be monitored frequently, quickly and cost-efficiently without turbidity or the colour of the sample affecting measurement precision. There is no longer any elaborate preparation of samples necessary. The sample is simply placed on the measuring prism and the measurement process is started.The flat stainless steel plate is easy to clean and is highly resistant to aggressive substances. As the refractive index depends on the temperature of the sample, the refractometer should be tempered. The DR6000 series is thus available with integrated electronic temperature control by means of a Peltier element. This type of temperature control is faster and more reliable than water bath thermostats. For continuous measurements or series of measurements with many samples and high volumes of samples, flow cells are available. A sample can thus displace the previous one, nonetheless achieving an accurate measurement result without cleaning the measuring prism after every measurement.

Protective atmosphere in food packaging

To ensure first-class product quality over long periods of time the goal of all food producers is the preservation of taste, colour and freshness of food, this is obtained through modified atmosphere packaging. An advantage of reducing oxygen is that it inhibits the growth of aerobic micro-organisms and the speed of oxidation reactions. The removed oxygen can be replaced with nitrogen (N2), commonly acknowledged as an inert gas, or carbon dioxide (CO2), which can lower the pH or inhibit the growth of bacteria. Carbon monoxide can be used for preserving the red color of meat.

Control of modified atmosphere with the MAT1000 series

The MAT1000 series gas analysers are used for quality control in the laboratory, in the production sector as well as in the bottling or packaging of perishable foods. In addition to sample checking, the device can also be used to continuously monitor the gas mixture of packaging machines.

 Versatile Laboratory Fibre-Optic Light Sources

KRUESS offer three models in its KL series of fibre optic light sources.

The KL5110 cold light source is the smallest in the range. This device is very economic and offers good performance for most basic applications, an external power supply with an adaptor plugs makes it very versatile. Illumination is through a 7.7V, 20W halogen bulb with a colour temperature of 5500K.

The KL5120 introduces brightness control without colour change, again from a 20W halogen bulb with a colour temperature of 5500K. The unit offers automatic voltage switching from 110-230V.

The more powerful KL5125 also offers adjustable intensity at a colour temperature of 5500K, but from a larger 150W halogen bulb.
