Z-Spec JP500 Heavy Metals in Food and Water by HD XRF®
Optimized for Pb, As, Hg, Cu, Zn, and Se
The Z-Spec JP500 is powered by Monochromatic Energy-Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (HD XRF®) technology using a monochromatic excitation beam, the Z-Spec JP500 delivers unprecedented limits of detection (LOD). The JP500 can rapidly and precisely quantify heavy metal elements in food. Its excellent performance meets the challenge of reliably measuring extremely low-level Pb, As, and Hg, at the 0.1 ppm level for As and Pb which is requested by FDA regulations. Testing more samples in a shorter period with accurate, reliable analysis, the JP500 is a powerful tool for risk assessments of heavy-metal contamination in food and it enables producers and customers to monitor and reduce the health risks from heavy-metal exposure.
Ultra-high signal-to-background ratio and ultra-low detection limit
Portable design: light-weight and comfortable to carry
Minimum sample preparation enables on-site sampling and quantification
HDXRF Innovative Technology
The JP500 is powered by Monochromatic X-ray Fluorescence (HDXRF®) technology: an elemental-analysis technique offering significantly enhanced detection performance over traditional Energy-Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) technology. This technique applies state-of-the-art monochromating and focusing optics, enabling dramatically higher signal-to-background ratio compared to traditional polychromatic X-ray Fluorescence.
FP Calibration Approach
The JP500 applies a fundamental parameters (FP) approach to calibrate the system, using reference materials to refine FP parameters. This approach allows the JP500 to measure various types of food with one calibration curve. Custom calibration curves can also be established to further improve accuracy for some specific sample types.
Accuracy
With complex matrices such as food, it is essential to demonstrate accurate results that compare well with various standards. The JP500 HDXRF delivers excellent linearity and accurate results across a wide range of concentrations.
